Motoring Advice from Reg Greenwood.
Many of us over the last 8 weeks or so have been adhering to the lockdown advice and as a result car journeys have in many cases been reduced to an absolute minimum.
We have seen a sharp increase in people finding flat batteries over the last couple of days as more people are starting to return to or make the most of the relaxation of the current lockdown restrictions.
To help out, we would advise that all motorists check the vehicle thoroughly before setting off to minimise any potential problems developing or getting worse.
· Check tyre pressures meet with the manufacturers guidelines
· Regularly start the engine.
· Check fluid levels, such as windscreen washer fluid and antifreeze.
· Check your vehicle oil level
· When you start to move check brakes when safe to do so.
Here at Reg Greenwood we are delighted to offer a free tyre check for customers, if you visit our branch please note that we are making every effort to keep both our staff and customers safe, including:
· Hand sanitiser available to all customers and staff
· Staff to change gloves on a regular basis
· Car Seat Covers and Steering Wheel Wraps used when moving vehicles
We ask that if you are having work carried out to please pull your vehicle into the bay, leave the vehicle and wait in our waiting room or behind the chains.
Once the technician has finished the work we will call you back down to your vehicle and he will remove the chains so you can reverse back out.
We do not want to cause offence and we apologise for these inconveniences, but safety for all is paramount!
